Printed for the first time from Masonite plates carved by Peter Schumann in the early 1960s, shortly after he and Elka had moved to the US from Germany and were living at her parents house in Ridgefield, CT. Hidden away in storage, we are now bringing these carvings to life! Peter recently chose the words paired with each carving. The News—stark, black, haunted—feel eerily prescient today. As the Gaza genocide continues unabated, supported by our tax dollars, these banners are as relevant today as they were more than 60 years ago. When will it end?
Banners are hand printed and are sewn-by-hand in our print shop (or by local volunteers), in Glover, Vermont. Banners are made with printing ink on unbleached cotton.
Approximate dimensions: 30" x 31"
