Shape Note Posters 2025 Edition. These limited-edition prints were made by hand using a Vandercook letterpress, from masonite cuts carved by Peter Schumann for the 2011 Heaven to Earth Come Down calendar.

The text featured in these prints are all fragments of lyrics from THE SACRED HARP, the most popular collection of sacred songs, hymns, odes and anthems in the early American shape note tradition. 

Shape note singing was much loved by Elka Schumann, and is still very much a part of Bread and Puppet culture, with community sings happening every Tuesday night on the farm throughout the summer.
