These limited edition prints were made by hand using a Vandercook letterpress, and woodcut blocks initially carved in the early 2010s. The text featured in these prints are taken from the Sacred Harp song book, the most popular collection of sacred songs, hymns, odes and anthems in the early American shape note tradition. Shape note singing was much loved by Elka Schumann, and is still very much a part of Bread and Puppet culture, with community sings happening every Tuesday night on the farm throughout the summer.
