In 1997, Bread & Puppet commemorated with a passion play the 1985 police bombing of the MOVE organization's home and headquarters in Philadelphia, resulting in the death of five children and six adults, as well as the destruction by fire of an entire block of homes. This book contains the text used in the play: verses by neighbor and poet Burt Porter; a speech by MOVE member, John Africa; excerpts from Twenty-five Years on the MOVE:;” and Sacred Harp verses. With illustrations in brush by Peter Schumann.
