A reprint of a 1977 book, which was hand printed on a Vandercook letterpress by Clare Van Vliet of Janus Press in Newark Vermont.
The White Horse Butcher story was created by Peter Schumann as a black and white relief series on masonite; as a black and white puppet show; and as a series of masonite cuts with texts, reproduced in this book.
The show was created in Vermont in 1975, toured Europe, North Africa, Venezuela and the U.S. 1976-81, and in 1988 was performed in Moscow, Minsk, and Estonia USSR.
Text on the questionable quest for happiness; with block print images of coffee, landscapes, naked ladies, horses, flowers, and businessmen.
