Vintage Broadsheet Set

These are vintage posters from 1996. The two posters are sold as a set. 

The larger format of broadsides were used initially for conveying information of all kinds including performances and music. People soon started using broadsides as a method of political activism and were utilized as a distribution method for political manifestos and speeches. Peter utilizes this politicized format in these 1996 posters. A prelude to his fiddle rants these poetic and rambling writings discuss the implications of our relationships with nature, ourselves, creative pursuits, and a world filled with replication, destruction, and capitalism.

Artwork by Peter Schumann. After the original is offset printed it is handpainted with acrylic paint at the Bread + Puppet Press in Glover, VT.
